    Surviving Work

(rules as they come to me)

    1. If a meeting has a specified end time, leave at that time, even if the meeting isn't over.
    2. If a meeting does not have a specified end time, call the meeting convener and ask when the meeting will end. Leave at the specified end time.
    3. Bring something to work on in case the meeting starts late.

    Common Ground follow up

    Thursday, 24 February 2005 11:59 P GMT-07
We ended up focusing on W's proposed budget yesterday. I started out by saying that I was upset to see that the budget slashes funding to community colleges, higher ed in general, and alternative education programs like vocational programs. Bill poin

    Monday, 21 February 2005 12:00 P GMT-07
What is up with people who are always late? I know several people who are always late or late 90% of the time. I just don't understand how a person can be late 90% or more of the time. If I have to be in my office at 9 a.m. for a meeting, I know th

I try to keep my entries on my daughter to a minimum because - although I simply can't account for it! - I understand that not everyone thinks it's as darling as a mother does when her kid says something kinda cute or does something mildly amusing. S

I posted this in Mattea's blog in response to her post on why prayer should be allowed in schools: I'm against prayer in schools. I don't mind if someone wants to pray in school as an individual, but I don't think there should be a special time set a

    Valentine's Day is dumb

    Monday, 14 February 2005 11:46 A GMT-07
So I spent what seemed like forever looking at the thousands of Valentine's Day cards at Target (at least they donate a portion of their sales to local organizations, which is why I don't feel as filthy after shopping at Target as I would if I ever s

I’m not informed enough about the Ward Churchill brouhaha to comment on it, but I did find this statement in Joe Scarbough’s blog about Churchill interesting: Radical college professors are finally being put on notice by middle
