    Surviving Work

(rules as they come to me)

    1. If a meeting has a specified end time, leave at that time, even if the meeting isn't over.
    2. If a meeting does not have a specified end time, call the meeting convener and ask when the meeting will end. Leave at the specified end time.
    3. Bring something to work on in case the meeting starts late.

    Fixing 4Cs (IMHO)

    Monday, 31 March 2008 5:56 A GMT-07
As I’ve blogged before, the 2007 conference was not a happy one for me. I found the experience alienating (with a few notable exceptions—although I didn’t hook up with all of them, I did make contact with a number of other bloggers

The conference continues to challenge and invigorate me. I went to three excellent sessions today (I hope to have time to blog about them in the next week), and I am so glad that I decided to take a hiatus from 4Cs. Today's highlights: Began the

The other day, my sister was over and we were talking in the living room. Lily came in and interrupted us and I reminded her not to interrupt. She stomped away and I heard her slam her door. When I went to check on her a few minutes later, I found th

my, what a big carbon footprint I have

    Wednesday, 12 March 2008 6:36 P GMT-07
PTK has created a great Website for calculating your carbon footprint and then reducing it once you see how shockingly out of worldwide whack your footprint is. For my household of 3, here are my results: While I’m glad my household scores

Bauerlein dismissive (oops, that's not news)

    Tuesday, 11 March 2008 11:14 A GMT-07
Others have commented far more eloquently than I can on Mark Bauerlein’s recent Chronicle article, “Stop Pushing Yourself,” so rather than trying to be eloquent or address the entirety of Bauerlein’s ignorance,

    Sunday, 2 March 2008 10:28 A GMT-07
Newsweek, a supposedly “liberal media” outlet, writes in their Bill Buckley obit that Buckley “tolerated some disreputable ideas, including segregation.” WTF? Segregation is merely “disreputable”? As T pointed
